How strange

Make a thread and the last one on the list disappears. to page 2 but no pages after that. Are we starting again

It is most strange, First Mate!

Page 2 is now empty so it seems if a thread is knocked off the bottom of Page 1 it then disappears?

Thanks joanne I thought it was me. There are a couple more boards the same. "wiganworld" "history" and "hobbies"

It seems the threads might still exist even if they’re not visible, First Mate. At least, I searched for a thread on the History board that was beyond Page 1 and found it!



Macfarlane’s/Mcfarlanes Foundry Thread

I’m now going to add a new post which should take the Macfarlane’s thread up to the top of Page 1, then will see if I can locate the thread currently at the bottom.

Interesting findings!

The Macfarlane’s thread did indeed go to the top of History Page 1 (after the sticky threads).

Yet, the bottom thread remained the last one on the page. I’m not quite sure what went on?

be extremely careful if you search for and then access a thread other than by the usual link.

Dustaf discovered that Google search would find and open threads when Admin had removed the links normally used, and he got thrown off the site for so doing.

Even more interesting is the fact that dostaf was removed about seven years before you joined, ena.
Perhaps you were just looking in at the time.

That is not true.

A data breach had resulted in my password being pwned.
It was on one of those nasty sites on the dark web.

I asked Ron to change my password, and was told it was not possible, so I had to re register as a new user with different password and username.

It’s almost the 10th anniversary of Dostaf and then Dustaf being made inactive.

Dostaf’s last post 2nd Dec 2013, Dustaf’s 4th Dec 2013.

10 years! Hope all’s well Dostaf/ Dustaf, if you still look in.

Does your comment imply that Dustaf has gone from the other Wigan forum as well?

Hello Ena M, the only other Wigan Forum I belong to these days is Wigan Peers, and Dustaf has never been a member there.

I have never met Dustaf, so only know his online persona on here, and for a while, the other place.

You could count upon him to go out of his way to be helpful, particularly to newcomers attempting to master the ideocracies of posting links and images on the site.

He also shielded newcomers from some of the bullying they encountered.

So I would be very pleased to second your wishing of, "all the best" to the man.
